Irish Dancers Put on a Colourful Show
By Barbara Sutherland
Residents at Hawthorne were treated to a lively outdoor Irish Dancing demonstration recently. As residents watched from their windows and balconies, the three young dancers in beautiful bright costumes danced on boards in the spring sunshine.
Energy and Beautiful Dresses
“Dancer Riley Daley (black dress) is the daughter of Leane Daley, one of our wonderful Alberta Health Case Managers,” says Recreation Therapist Dawn Robertson. “Along with her friends, Cara Hurley (red dress), and Lucy Frasca (pink dress), they performed a few numbers on the east side of the community for residents to watch from balconies, before moving to the Memory Care courtyard for more to watch.” Residents commented on their energy as well as their beautiful dresses.
Excellent Performance
“During these COVID times when activities are limited,” says Dawn, “it is so nice when talented people step up and provide such an excellent performance.”
