Residents at Hawthorne with birthdays in January celebrated with a blast from the past – back 60 years with a 1950s themed party. Baby blue and pink-hued decorations, checkered balloons, faux jukeboxes, vintage music, and happy memory food made it easy to get in the mood.

Back to Another Time

Residents sipped vanilla milkshakes through striped straws and savoured delicious strawberry-topped lemon-iced cupcakes as they watched and listened to a virtual performance of 50s music by Calgary performer Roli Mack.

“All of the residents had a wonderful time,” says Recreation Therapist Jessica Craig, “and said it was so neat to have a themed party that took them back to another time.”
